Painting Fender Flares

I did a little cosmetic work this weekend. The plastic wheel arch trim on the truck was really weathered.

I considered removing to sand and paint, but they are glued on and painting in place seemed easier.

The front trim looked OK, but both rears were very worn…
…and felt like rough sandpaper in areas
This was what I used
Before sanding, I taped off the surrounding area to protect the paint
Started with the 320 grit sandpaper. Sanded, wiped down and repeated many times to try and remove as much of the pitting as possible
Then masked off the truck. Wiped each trim piece with solvent and then put 3 coats of the adhesion promoter on each. Put a few coats of paint on using a little more than one can. Let sit overnight and then went to work sanding with the 1000 to 2500 sandpaper.
Then put on the final coats using the rest of the paint. Pretty happy with the end product
